"Protecting lives, from the feet up." With this unwavering belief, we are tackling the global market with our 'Gateway Platform' strategy for diabetic foot complication management.

Diabetes stands as one of the fastest-growing global health challenges of the 21st century, with an estimated 589 million adults worldwide living with diabetes in 2024. This figure is projected to rise to 853 million by 2050, with 95% of this increase expected to occur in low- and middle-income countries. Furthermore, in 2024, approximately 252 million adults were unaware they had diabetes, a condition referred to as "undiagnosed diabetes", which significantly escalates the risk of complications and premature death.

Within this context, diabetic foot complications, particularly severe ones, profoundly impact patients' lives. The prevalence of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy (DPN) is reported to range mostly between 30.0% and 70.0% in many countries, often leading to foot ulcers and lower-limb amputations. However, comprehensive data on diabetic foot complications are lacking in many regions, making it difficult to ascertain the true burden, especially in low- and middle-income countries.

SECOND HEART Inc. offers the "Diabetic Foot Care Support Platform Steplife" as a pivotal solution to address this global issue. Steplife comprises the "Steplife Cloud" foot check app and the "Digital Tuning Fork," a diagnostic device for quantitatively screening peripheral neuropathy. This platform enables early detection of peripheral neuropathy and prompt introduction of foot care, establishing a system for zero amputations through primary prevention.

We position "Steplife DPN" as the "starting point (gateway)" for diabetic foot care for all diabetic patients, building a "risk stratification platform" that directs patients to appropriate care based on their risk levels. Our core business model is a "B2B2C subscription model" called "Steplife Home Monitoring Program," recommended by medical institutions for moderate-risk patients. This offers medical institutions enhanced patient satisfaction and efficient management, while providing patients with peace of mind from their trusted doctor's recommendation and mitigating significant future amputation risks with a small monthly investment.

In particular, for overseas markets, we redefine existing solution providers as "partners" and aim to create a "coexistence and co-prosperity ecosystem" by referring patients identified as high-risk by our platform to specialized services. This approach allows for efficient engagement with the moderate-risk patient demographic, which was challenging for traditional monitoring services, thereby contributing to saving more lives worldwide.

Through this strategy, we aim to embed the culture of "Protecting lives, from the feet up" into society, bridging the "gap" between medical care and daily life with a new focus on "social participation risk management", continuously protecting the feet and lives of people around the globe.
