Check your feet every day
— look and touch.

Wash your feet gently with soapy foam
-
Clean between your toes

Dry your feet well with a clean towel
Do not
-
Scrub too hard
-
Use pumice stones, brushes, or scrubbing tools

2. Moisturize your feet
-
Put on moisturizer every day
-
Best time: within 20 minutes after a bath or shower
-
Use enough so your skin feels slightly sticky
-
If you have sensitive skin, use a gentle cream (like one with ceramides)

3. Wear good shoes and socks
Socks
-
Choose cotton or silk
-
Avoid tight socks that leave marks
Shoes
-
Leave about 1–1.5 cm space in front of your toes
-
Choose shoes with strong heel support
How to wear shoes
-
Tap your heel into place
-
Tie your shoelaces properly every time
Winter warning
-
Do not put heat packs or hot water bottles directly on your skin (can cause burns)

4. Cut your nails the right way
-
Use nail clippers with straight edges
-
Cut nails straight across
-
Do not cut the corners—file them instead
-
Do not cut all of the white part
-
Cut little by little, not all at once
-
File in one direction

5. Check for problems (possible athlete’s foot)
-
Wet or soft skin between toes
-
Dry, rough heels
-
Thick, cloudy nails
If you see these, go to a doctor
Do not stop treatment until the doctor says it’s okay

6. Simple foot exercises at home
-
Move your toes like rock–paper–scissors
-
If you have bunions, avoid the “rock” shape
-
Stretch your calves (use a wall)
-
Stand on your toes (hold a chair if needed)
-
Use your toes to pull a towel toward you
Stop if you feel pain or heat
